Doors and sign ups at 7 PM. Open mic begins at 7:30!
Bring one poem that’s 3 minutes or under and read it on our open mic! No cover charge, but we’ll be passing a bucket to pay the featured poet.
After our open mic, we will be presenting a spotlight feature from a local poet. This month we feature Kai Pretto!
Kai Pretto is a genderqueer, neurodivergent poet who enjoys mineral & fossil shows, jigsaw puzzles, and making soap. They have been writing poetry for about two decades, but are terrified of the idea of publishing. (Isn’t everybody?!) Once upon a time they published some things in some journals in Oregon, but have no recollection of what they were called. Kai facilitated poetry and writing workshops in the Portland, OR area once upon a moon, as well as writing workshops for women who are incarcerated through the incredible Voices from Inside project in Western Massachusetts. They currently reside in Greenfield, in a lovely farmhouse full of furry beasts (and feathery beasts outside!), and are on a mission to save the world, preparing for a new adventure in the wilds of Minneapolis. They think that being kind is one of the most important things, and value a quirky sense of humor, thunderstorms, and good boots.
Venue and stage are wheelchair accessible.
