Poetry Workshop with Meccamorphosis

Every first Tuesday in 2019, nohopoco will be bringing you a special poet to lead a workshop. After the workshop, our guest poet gives a private reading of their own work. In May we are honored to have Mecca "Meccamorphosis" Verdell teach an editing workshop called Da Art of Letting Go: Editing Concept Poems.

IMPORTANT! This is a special editing workshop, so please BRING A POEM OR POEM IDEA you would like to workshop with Mecca! Paper and pen/pencil can be provided for people who didn't bring their own.


Mecca “Meccamorphosis” Verdell is a Teaching artist for Dewmore baltimore who’s performed in venues like busboys and poets, The Hippodrome and the Kennedy Center where she won Brave New Voices in 2016, became the college LTAB slam champion in 2017, southern fried regional champion of 2017 and 2018. She is the 2017 former Youth Literary Ambassador of Baltimore top 10 for the annual Women of World poetry slam 2018 and top 3 of Texas Grand Slam of 2018.
