Every first Tuesday in 2019, nohopoco will be bringing you a special poet to lead a workshop. After the workshop, our guest poet gives a private reading of their own work. In September we are thrilled to invite Sam Rush to teach a generative workshop and to read some poems for us.

Sam Rush is originally from South Florida and began writing poems after developing progressive hearing loss and realizing how many words each word could be. Sam is a three-time competitor in the National Poetry Slam and was a 2016 finalist as a member of The House Slam team. Their work has been featured work featured in in The Offing, Public Pool, Drunk in a Midnight Choir and on Button Poetry and SlamFind.

To attend this workshop, please sign up in advance through the online system ( or contact Catherine Weiss ( directly, because seats are limited!

This is a generative workshop, so bring a notebook and be ready to write!
